This is an Audio CD music disc filled with custom music for GamersNexus, mostly written around a dark, dystopian electronic theme that transfers to a retro game style of track. We are writing the discs with our disc duplicator in-house, at GN HQ, with our GN team. The disc case front has our Vaporwave Dystopia smiley on it and was 3D modeled by Andrew on the GN team. We are 3D printing every single disc case ourselves.

We never thought we’d be releasing a music CD. Our special documentaries, investigations, and reports lately have featured a lot of commissioned, custom music from musician Aaron Pauley (known for Of Mice & Men fame, among others). We came to know Aaron Pauley years ago, after he happened to tweet a photo wearing a GN Disappointment Tour T-Shirt at us. Already being fans of his music, it wasn’t long before we started working with Aaron to hire a real artist to begin producing many of our tracks. With this music CD release, we can support both ourselves and Aaron as a real musician in a world filled increasingly with AI slop.

This album is a split concept, featuring our Cyberpunk-style, dystopian, dark electronic music found in the AI GPU Black Market investigation (among others) and our SEGA Police Raid report, then transitions across two tracks through a slow break-down of style from the darker, modern electronic tones into a lower-resolution, chiptune-style set of tracks. The fade is done gradually, as if being pulled into a Tron-like terminal in a dystopian world and being transported into an 8-bit past. To make the more “game-themed” music, Aaron actually used synth emulation and reconstructed music the way the original “galaxy brained musicians” (his words) did for SEGA and NES games of the era. He did it the hard way.

This is an audio CD with CD-TEXT. We have tested for compatibility in numerous cars, which have both played the tracks and read the CD-TEXT track labels (thus far), as well as some older CD players and computers. Thus far, we have not encountered compatibility issues. This is printed with PETG, so it has better heat-resistance if left in a car; however, you should still keep the disc case tucked away (e.g. not on a dashboard in the sun).

• DRM: There is no DRM at all. You are invited and encouraged to rip the music to your personal library!

• Licensing: Aaron Pauley and GamersNexus have decided to permit personal, attributed use of the tracks for non-commercial use cases. If you are editing your own non-monetized video and want to use our tracks, you are welcome to do so

This is meant to be a unique way to support us while also getting high-quality media in return. Purchases of this music CD support both Aaron Pauley (the musician) and GamersNexus.

• The USB Edition also includes a 16 GB USB Type-A drive with the music files written to the drive. Note that speeds are relatively low (but sufficient for playback or transferring to local storage). As a bonus, the 16 GB drive is large enough to use for most boot media / OS installers if no longer needed for media storage.
